Informix API for Delphi/ObjectPascal

Hello all, is there any native API for Inprise Delphi 5 available for Informix ? I do not want ODBC/ADO or BDE drivers, what I want is native API, components or ActiveX using native API. Is there something like this ? This looks great, but I'd prefer freeware/GPL solution. Is something like this available ?
