If you just want a database, use 7.31, if you want to use the Web blade, use IDS.2000. >What Os platform would be the best for this server ? Difficult to tell. Lots of batch work generally implies Unix, and Sun, HP and IBM all have pitches to sell. Depends on how heavy the load is. If it's relatively minor, go for a grunty PC with Linux. This week, I have been mostly using Sun servers. (One for our UK audience) And I'm a bit underwhelmed. I'm also a bit underwhelmed by HP. And I've been told that IBM's SMP is dreadful. So I guess you'd have to benchmark. >and has the sp's structure and functionality changed alot in the last 5 >years ? Regrettably not. >can you program cursors into the sp's and triggers? Yes (if I understand the question correctly). However, you still can't have dynamic SQL in the SPs. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
