First off, Filemaker Slow doesn't handle large tables well at all. There are no indexes, so flatfile access crawls as application data grows. In the real world, this is unacceptable. In it's current state Filemaker Slow is a toy. Since you are using a Mac, your choices are limited. Check out Double Helix. It costs more, but it handles files with indexed access so it can perform relatively well. You will have to do more programming, but in exchange, you will get an application that works. Everything that I have ever made with Filemaker Slow had to be rewritten in some other database language as soon as real data began being used. I heard that there was going to be an upgrade to make it more competitive, and if this upgrade has included indexed access, then Filemaker Slow might turn into Filemaker Pro, and become a usable tool. Check to see what is up with the very latest version. It might not be out yet. Other than that, you will have to suffer with extremely frustrating response times. ;(
