Okay, so has anyone had this course that would care to post some stuff that they learned from it? Specifically "DOs and DON'Ts" and some general guidelines that may show differences from the standard Informix methods? Far as I know, Michael Beetz joined the course already. Is there any BaaN/Informix environment where you detected problems inside the database server ? Isn't it true, that more than 50% of the response time is used just to transfer the data to the B-Shell ? ( That's what I found out during normal operation ). I/O problems can be reduced by removing the extents. Have you heard of the product BaaN DBA ? Possibly this will help you monitor the BaaN/Informix environment. Best regards, Stefan Weideneder
