Emulation the Terminal

Hello,
unfortunately i have near completion Christmas a Problem with the
terminal-emulation for an applications.
Problem:
4GL-Program is compiled without any problem. Therefore, i can use the
applications but the applications response not correctly with the
Break-button, the answer is correct at the first click but when i
click again the break-button there are no more response. Also i have a
problem with the back-button.
Environments:
Debian Linux Kernel 2.4.20

i have tried with many diffrent Terminal clients like SSH, Putty,
TeraTerm, Tun Emul and i habe the same problem. i hope that my
description for the problem is enough to get help from you in this
stuff. Can anyone help me? thanks in advance in helping me.

I don't know if I can help, but what an excellent exposition of the problem!
If more people did this, I'd be inclined to get off my arse more often to
help them!
Do you have a Bourne shell (usually /bin/sh) on your box? I'd be interested
to know what happened when you pressed your backspace and break keys while
running the Bourne shell.
