ER-diagram software needed

I am looking for software that will take my Informix schema, and produce an ER-diagram. Pointers will be much appreciated. Regards Len
I've just started using ERwin, and did what you want to do: reversed engineered an existing Informix schema and produced a diagram depicting the physical database model. I found that it works well *if* explicit primary and foreign key statements are made for each table. If this is not the case, then ERwin must determine these relationships by either using indexes or names (ERwin give you a choice of doing either or none). Since I inherited my schema and it has no primary or foreign key statements, I added these statement and the result was quite good. If you have further questions, please email me. We use PowerDesigner, but I'd have to tell you, I'm not impressed. PowerDesigner is designed to generate for multiple platforms and uses some internal logic, but primarily .DEF files to become platform specific. I've had to make many modifications to the released 7.2 DEF to get around syntax errors that PowerDesigner generates. Some stuff I can't fix at the .DEF level, so I have to run the generated scripts through an editor before trying to execute them. You may archive (freeze) PDM specifics and produce alter scripts to automate changes. However, you better look them over! Let's just say that if PowerDesigner were planning the route to drive from Los Angeles to New York, you might need to learn how to speak Chinese, French, and Arabic!
