With Sun's latest service prices on my old E4500 with two A1000's I can get a new Sun 490 with two 3510 fiber arrays and almost pay for it for free in 5 years. I got the numbers approved for a new Informix server. So the big question what to get? I currently run 7.3 on the E4500. I have another server running 9.4 with no issues on Solaris 9. Would it be safer to stay with 9.4 and Solaris 9 or should I do IDS 10 on Solaris 10 or 9? We are no Informix experts over here, I rely heavily on this group and Art for help.
