You could do what we did when we were after dynamic forms. It is the same kind of problem. 4GL wants a specific form name and offers no way to feed it a variable. Build a small test program that outputs to a specific file. Examine the C code produced by the compiler and determine where the file name is specified. Change the pertinant code to a C function to which you pass the file name. Test it. Use the function call instead of the OUTPUT command. This works for forms; it should work for output. BTW, please do not ask me for specifics. I got the idea but it was implemented by a guy who works for me. I have asked him to prepare an explanation for the net, but I have no idea when he will have time. Unfortunately, it is fairly low priority. -- Bob Peirce, Pittsburgh, PA rbp@investor.pgh.pa.us 412-471-5320 venetia@investor.pgh.pa.us [NeXT Mail] !uunet.uu.net!pitt!investor!rbp [UUCP]
