Whatever you are using CGI, NSAPI or whatever, the best approach is three databases (can be in the same server instance). Then they have nothing in common. You will need 3 cgi interfaces or three NSAPI urls defined (or you could go all the way and setup three web servers). If you want them to use the same DB, just different projects (I'll assume you are using APB) then that is a little tricky (so tricky I'm not sure you can do it). You add users to the webuser (or webusers) table. Once they are in there, then they can login and use the system. I'm not aware of any way to 'hide' a project. Tony
PRESS RELEASE: The following Sql Power SniFFFer products for ZERO impact database service level and SQL transaction performance monitoring are about to be released in a few weeks for Informix: 1. '7x24 Global Sql Monitor' for 7x24 ZERO impact end user and database server Service Level Monitoring. Product summarizes in real-time -- database server transaction rate, no. of SQL transactions processed, no. of errors, avg. SQL transaction response time, avg. rows returned, avg. network time and more at the SQL transaction level over any specified time interval (e.g. 5 seconds, 1 minute, etc.). Database server performance at the SQL transaction level may be determined over any time period for today, yesterday, last week, last month, last quarter or last year. 2. 'Sql Power SniFFFer' for ZERO impact SQL transaction capture, performance monitoring and alert notification. The product monitors at the SQL transaction level end-user response time, data base server response time, network send and receive time, rows returned, and SQL errors. Real-time alerts by SQL transaction may be setup. The SQL transaction flow to a database server can be reconstructed from any time period. For high volume (1000+ transactions/second) production, datamart, WWW, test or development database server environments. The products scale to thousands of end-users with no required impact upon the database server or network. Refer to www.sqlpower.com. Prior to the official release we are looking for a few additional beta sites. We will offer any participants a 35% product discount on the first product license. The product can be installed in a few minutes and requires no software from Informix. Beta participants should expect to spend about one hour per week on product installation and operational issues. The product line is very easy to install and use. Contact mowens@sqlpower.com for beta program details. The Sql Power SniFFFer runs currently on 95, NT and Solaris (soon AIX and HP-UX). Any version can monitor an Informix database server running on any platform type. e.g. A Sql Power SniFFFer running on NT can monitor an Informix database server running AIX, DEC UNIX, HP-UX, Solaris, etc. The only requirement is that the Sql Power SniFFFer runs on the same subnet (or on the platform the database server runs on) as the database server. This allows the Sql Power SniFFFer to view and analyze the SQL network packet flow to the database server. The Sql Power SniFFFer GUI runs on 95 or NT. It connects to the Power Sql SniFFFer and may run on any workstation on the network. Neither the Sql Power SniFFFer or its GUI need to connect to any Informix database server. The products require no operational or software changes to the database server, network or end-user workstations. Regards, Mary Owens Sql Power Tools www.sqlpower.com 201.825.9511
I don't think you need multiple DBs. Create multiple entry points instead, where each entry point is a separate instance of Webdriver. If you're using the CGI version, this means a different directory & URL for each entry point. If you're using the NSAPI Webdriver, you need to point to different configuration files. Each of the different config files would specify a different DB user and you'd manage DB permissions by user. Seth "Antonio J.
