Not sure what your question is. Are you asking if it is possible for IBM to force you to give up Informix? Not possible. They could end support for it so you could no longer get version upgrades and bug fixes, but you own the software. It is yours in perpetuity. Are you asking what will happen if you stop paying for support? Not much except that IBM/HCL will no longer "support" you. You will not get bug fixes or version upgrades without paying for them and you will not get help with problems without paying for support by the event. Different question? Be more specific.
