Hi, Did you got the information on HDR implementation on Windows. If, could you help me on this. I have stuck at this point since last three weeks.
Not much different from *nix, I'd say, so if you've managed to do it on=20
e.g. Linux, you've got the basics already.
On Windows you'd first create the HDR secondary instance, on secondary=20
host, using Instance Manager, but not necessarily initializing it.
Then, on both hosts, and if not using v12.10, you'd use the setnet32.exe=20
utility to add the opposite side's server information to registry=20
(equivalent to sqlhosts file on *nix). If using v12.10, you'd be back to=20
sqlhosts file (for server) and do the same as on *nix (for all things=20
'client' you'd still maintain the registry based 'sqlhosts' info).
Now you should be able to physically restore a L 0 backup from primary=20
into secondary instance, then connect the two through appropriate 'onmode=20
-d primary|seconary <opposite=5Fside>' commands.

Forgot to mention: there needs to be some sort of trust relationship=20 between the two hosts, i.e. Informix must allow passwordless connection=20 between the two Informix servers, for user informix. There's a hosts.equiv file as well on Windows, afaik (in=20 %WINDIR%\\\\system32\\\\drivers\\\\etc, if not, you'd create it there), not sure=20 about a user's '.rhosts', but you also should be able to use=20 REMOTE=5FSERVER=5FCFG and/or REMOTE=5FUSER=5FCFG Informix configuration (th= ey=20 point to files, under %informixdir%\\\\etc, acting in place of system wide=20 hosts.equiv or .rhosts). There should be documentation for all of this. Never really done this on Windows (but knowing people having done it), so=20 curious about your progress....
