If there's a question in there, I didn't spot it.

What's your platform? What's in your sqlhosts file? What's in your
onconfig file? And what do you get from 'oninit -V' and 'oninit -v'?
What's left in the message log file (at the end, after the onmode -ky
takes effect).
Most likely, you've specified onsoctcp in the sqlhosts file on a machine
that supports ontlitcp, or vice versa. This is what "finderr +25507"
implies, though
it is hardly explicit about it (which is why I've copied the doc alias
on this message).
You might also note that this is the only positive error number in the
Informix canon of error messages -- damn it! All other error numbers
are negative.

socekts to informix db on SUN woking on with tli? I did and it doesn't work.
