More importantly this does not mean that I endorse the idea of building a FAQ. Personally I think that Informix should be enhancing support for paying customers and I believe that is happening. A FAQ is as much friend as foe. Still, the topics here are credible and sensible. More timely information should still come through support channels. As this document grows and 'matures' we should see it become a usefull long term asset. I'd suggest steering clear of 'impossible' subjects like 'twenty five steps to a faster OnLine instance' or 'incremental archive strategies for dummies.' Informix has adopted the widely held belief that we must 'do more through others.' To this end, I suggest that our mammoth VAR and InSync cattle dogs be made available from some kind of FTP site. I'd imagine that a index file with just the facts of name, keywords (products, market, purpose) wouldn't be too huge to search. I mention this because I find a lot of answers this way. Suggest format: NAME,PRODUCTNAME,VAR CAT. PG #$,KEYWORDS {eg. 4GL,OL,ST ARCHIVE BLOB} Does anyone else find themselves asking questions which could be answered by such a file?
