Re: 4GL replacement for isql menus

I read both your original post (excerpted below) as well as the replies posted as of the time I'm writing this. I suggest that you get the book "Using Informix-SQL" by Jonathan Leffler. Published by Addison Wesley, the 2nd edition copy I have is dated 1991. I do not know if the book is still being sold or updated, as I bought my copy about years ago. The only place I've ever seen the book was at Cody's Bookstore near U.C. Berkeley. That's where I got mine. For me, the book was EXCELLENT. In fact, I often use this book instead of the manuals. In Appendix C the author provides two pages of program code that accomplishes what you seek. The code may also be on-line somewhere, but I can't say where. A few months ago I posted a question in this same newsgroup (comp.sys.informix) and received several helpful replies, one of which came from the book's author Jonathan Leffler. He referred me to an Internet accessible archive of Informix related goodies. Unfortunately for you, information on that sight is on an older computer that I don't have with me at the moment. Time permitting, I'll post a follow up with that information. Otherwise, BUY THE BOOK!
