Re: cannot start with 4 AIO virtual processor
Posted in 2006
On Windows platforms IDS is KAIO only, hence in most cases there is no
need for more than 1 AIO VP.
In IDS versions prior to 9.30.TC6 this limit was enforced and an error
was generated when a higher value was used.
With KAIO systems the AIO VP is still used for some tasks such as
writing to log files, so there can be cases where more than one AIO VP
is desirable, but usually 1 is fine. For this reason a bug was logged:
147844 ENGINE IS RESTRICTED TO COME UP WITH ONLY 1 AIO VP WHEN IT CAN BE
BENEFICIAL TO HAVE MORE SET....
This bug is fixed in:
7.31.TD7
9.30.TC6
9.40.TC3 and higher.
So in your case, set it to 1, it probably doesn't need to be any higher.
