Re: Informix at Walmart

Thanks for the info. That does surprise me a little that they still on version 5.x. Do you know what they are done about data recoverability under version 5.x? The application vendor that was the catalyst for bringing Informix into our shop has not implemeted database logging on their system at any of their installations. We need to provide protection from a loss of data due to a disk drive failure at 5pm on a busy day. Even though this vendor has ported their 4GL code to run with version 7.1x DSA-based online engine, they still have yet to to protect their client's systems from a disk crash. Does anyone have any suggestions for how we can protect ourselves without assistance from this application vendor? Your time and input is greatly appreciated, TBoard.
