To get dbaccess to connect to your Informix server on IRIX you need
nothing but I-Connect on the the machine where you run dbaccess
assuming the Informixserver is ver. 7.x or later.
If it's version 5.x or earlier you also need I-Star on the server.
However I think only version 7.x have been distributed with the
Netscape products.
For server side JavaScript I don't know exactly what you need. If the
web server and the Informix server is on the same machine I assume you
should need nothing but the products from Netscape. If the
Informixserver is on another machine you probably need only I-Connect
on the web server machine. If that isn't included with the Netscape
products you can download it for free from http://www.intraware.com if
you run your web server on one of the machines that realease is
available for. Otherwise you can easily get it from Informix
If you intend to connect from an Informix product like dbaccess to
your MS-SQL server you would need a product like Informix Enterprise
Gateway. I don't know if that supports MS-SQL server. If it doesn't
there should be other products available that can give you such
connectivity.
