Stored Procedure Returning -668

We use Jenzabar CX and we are trying to add a trigger to a table that calls a stored procedure which eventually makes a system call. When a user logs in it takes them to a menu. For some this trigger/stored procedure works. For others it does not. For the ones it doesn't work for, it works through a perform screen, when I modify there login so it does not go straight to the menu. What I am wondering is, when a system call is made, what exactly happens? Does it call any login files (.profile/.kshrc)? Does it use the login shell for that user? Does it call /bin/sh? Thanks, David
Hi David, I dont think we are able to help you if you do not give us any details about the stored procedure. What ist the syntax for the trigger, in what cases is the system call done (and exactly what is called in which environment). Also, DB version, OS and used programming language for the stored procedure might make a big difference. That's the way the SYSTEM statement works. There was a discussion about this either here or in the comp.databases.informix news group a few years ago maybe 5 years ago now. But if you search for it, you might come up with that. (Indeed: Google answers 'informix 668 system' with posts from 2006 that look on the mark.) -- Jonathan Leffler <jonathan.leffler@gmail.com> #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix - v2011.0612 - http://dbi.perl.org "Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves, for we shall never cease to be amused." --20cf30050d9038ff2804c9221fe2
