DBload problem
Posted in 1993
I'm attempting to use dbload to load data into a database (is this terribly nai
ve?) Basically, I receive a file containing 2200 lines of data, and I want to
put that into my database without transfering the data to another application.
Anyhow, I tried using the following command:
dbload -l errors -d michael_test -c loadit where michael_test is the name of the database, and loadit is the name of my
commands file. The program is quite happy for a while, giving me nice message
s such as: 100 Row(s) loaded so far to table raw_submission.
Just when I think I'm home free, the following happens:
400 Row(s) loaded so far to table raw_submission.
Cannot open file for table (gibson.raw_submission)
However, the first 437 lines are successfully entered into the table. So my
question is this: is there something magic about the number 437, is there some
undetected error in my input file (line 438 looks the same), or is my path som
ehow messed up, in which case, what do I do to fix it?
Of course, if it is none of those things, does anyone have an idea what it m
ight be?
Thanks in advance.
