onstat -d

Hi,
I see a line in onstat -d output that say metadata
Size Free Bpages
Metadata 17324 4005 17324
I see the free space was drastically reduced when I run cdr commands.
My question is, what will happened with that space if it gets empty ?
Thanks in advance.

Response:
I believe if you run out of metadata space, you will not be able to create any
new smart blobs in that smart blob space, as each new smart blob object that
is created needs to put some information into that metadata area.

Now, I am no one to dispute Jacques however, I ran into an issue lately where
the metadata portion was full and I was still able to insert blobs. It is
documented that a rather large portion (sorry, don't remember the percentage)
of the actual data portion of each smart blob is actually reserved for
additional metadata. So, while I do not recommend letting that area get filled
up, you do seem to have some buffer in there.
Thanx,
Dan

First of all, the sblob metadata is not totally accurate except after a=
checkpoint. Second of all, the metadata space is allowed to expand if =
need
be.

Hi,
I believe that,40 percent of the user area is reserved to be used in case
the metadata area is full.
Cheers
