When deciding which compiler to use there are a number of considerations. Speed of compilation makes RDS preferable during development, but the memory requirements per user for RDS are significantly higher than c4gl. That said, the resultant performance of the applications is little different. After all most of the time an application is waiting either for user input or for disk access, both of which take the same amount of time. In some tests an RDS application has actually outperformed the c4gl version. But the tests were conducted on a lightly loaded processor. The c4gl application could handle more users on the same box. The best recommendation that I can give is to use RDS for initial program development and then move into c4gl when starting system testing. That gets the best of both worlds. regards Malcolm At 10:41 13/01/98 GMT, 72274.115@compuserve.com wrote: >I'm looking for opinions on the Rapid Development system.
