No, you don't have to dbexport and import. Going between maintenance releases
on a single major release is usually fine (eg. 5.01 to 5.06, or vice versa).
The only exception to this that I know of is the 7.1x family, where there was
a change to the checkpoint structure in 7.10.UD1, which means that you cannot
simply go back to the 7.10.UC1 binaries - you must convert the checkpoint in
order to revert. But you can do this with an onmode command, so you still
don't have to dbexport.
Still, I don't recommend going back to 5.02. As someone has already said, I
would recommend thrashing out your problems with 5.05 (or 5.06, or 5.07...).
