Informix IDS on Windows 8.1
Posted in 2015
Guy couldn't install the IBM Informix Developer Bundle on Windows 8.1 64-bit: the InstallAnywhere launcher failed with "ZeroGu6: Windows DLL failed to load". Ricardo Henriques and Martin Graney both suggested running the installer in Windows 7 compatibility mode, which worked. The install then reported two non-fatal errors (com.ibm.informix.install.ia.ProcessFiles and the IBM_Informix.iam.zip merge module). An IBM technote was offered, but it covered overwriting an existing install, and Guy's was a clean machine, so those secondary errors were left unresolved in the thread.

Hello Ricardo, Martin, Thanks for the hint, indeed under Win7 compat mode IDS installs. HoweverI get 2 NonFatalErrors: Custom Action: com.ibm.informix.install.ia.ProcessFiles Status: ERROR Additional Notes: ERROR - class com.ibm.informix.install.ia.ProcessFiles.install() runtime exception: Install Merge Module: $BUILD_SOURCE$\\\\server\\\\IBM_Informix.iam.zip Status: ERROR Can I ignore these, or even better any clue what's the cause of these errors? Thanks. Guy

Hi, thanks. The link you mentioned is about overwriting an existing installation, I installed IDS on a vanilla machine. Cheers, Guy
