Re: Informix and Brio Locking Problems?

Bob, I have implemented several data warehouse projects using Brio and Informix and have not seen a locking problem. Are you running Brio on databases that have logging turned on? or are these data warehouse type database with no logging? What level of isolation are the other applications using? If you have a database with logging turned on and other programs running a level of isolation such as "repeatable read" or doing updates I could see how you could have created a problem for your self. A solution is in Brio, going to ->DataModel->Data Model Preferences ->Audit Options and select Define Pre-Process and then enter an sql statement to set you isolation to dirty read for Brio. (e.g. set isolation dirty read) Regards - Lester Bob Casazza wrote: > > We're having a problem running Brio > reports against an Informix DB. > > We appear to be having locking > problems which we haven't seen > with other databases. > > Brio does not have a native driver > for Informix, so we are using ODBC. > > Has anybody used Brio with Informix > and had locking problems with processes > updating tables? > > Bob -- ______________________________________________________________________ Lester Knutsen lester@advancedatatools.com Advanced DataTools Corporation Voice: 703-256-0267 Visit our Web page: http://www.advancedatatools.com Washington Area Informix User Group: http://www.iiug.org/~waiug/ ______________________________________________________________________
