corrupted sym.out file

I chased down the shared memory problems I menitoned in a previous email to a corrupted sym.out file. Anyone know if I can repplace it with an older version from tape without restoring the entire db back from an older tape backup, then spending days synching data? Help in restoring this file would be greatly appreciated nan
