I do not know about IRIX but i installed on Solaris 2.5.1 UDO 9.14UC6 There is a differece in this installtaion in compared to other Informix products. Better use installation guide. Main points are 1. You need to run installius under Informix-id rather than root 2. It will ask you one file to run under ROOT id in the end. I don't remember the name of the file. After running that root part, installation will be over.
