Need HELP with btrieve versions - PLEASE

I'm running Win95 and I have two different software programs that want to use different versions of btrieve. I am running Micro Vision Tax Relief for Windows tax software which loaded and will only run with a 4/19/91 version of btrieve (51kb size); and my Peachtree for Windows accounting program gives me an error message that btrieve is too old needs a version newer than 5.10. I have an 11/17/94 wbtrcall.dll (17kb size) version 6.15.2 btrieve file which came with Peachtree that will work. But the Tax program will not accept this newer version. Currently I am switching between these two files (wbtrcall.dll) as needed. Is there a possible data corruption problem with switching between the two files? Also, is there a newer or better file to use? I am not experienced in this area and would greatly appreciate any help available. I also apologize for posting this to all the comp.database... groups but I really need an answer ASAP. I am running client data files and if this is dangerous to the data I need to know.
