Corrupt sysindexes.
Posted in 1997
I have a database that was rarely used but recently when I tried to access it, it owuld immediatetly crash the server on connecteing. The problem turned out to be a corrupt index on the systables table, tabname to be exact. Repairing the index would crash the server, OK I dont need the databse anyway so I try to drop it...NOPE crashes the server. OK I go into sysindexes and delete the index from the table. Still can't drop the database, cant rename it either...Anybody got any ideas on how to get rid of it. I tried restoring back to 30 days...but the index was corrupted even then. All I want to do is get rid of the database. BTW there are other databases in the dbspace that I do need....Wouldn't database level restores be nice.....
