1. copy $INFORMIXDIR/etc/ixbar.<src server num> from source server to $INFORMIXDIR/etc/ixbar.<dest server num> on the destination server. 2. do a cold dbspace restore on the new server ex. onbar -r rootdbs logsdbs dbspace1 dbspace2 Although we use Spectra Logics Alexandria on the Sequent platform the steps above should work on your platform. Note: Informix recommends that you do a "whole" backup and "whole" restore to "copy" a DB from one machine to another. Using a single stream to backup and restore the DB just plain sucks.
