I've never run into this, but here are a few ideas: What error message (if any) are you getting? This could help us distinguish several possibilities. For instance, it's conceivable that you're running out of temporary file space, in which case you could fix it just by emptying out /tmp, or by using a different partition by setting DBTMP. If it's really a limit internal to INFORMIX, you may be stuck, but still there are a couple of things to look at. For instance, are transactions enabled in your database? (and, if so, could you live without them?) You may have hit a limit on the number of rows to keep locked until the next 'commit work'. -- Harry Bochner -- bochner@das.harvard.edu
