upgrade from 11.70.FC4 to 12.10.FC4 onconf questio

HPUX 11.31 (11vi3) HP BL870c from 11.70.FC4 to 12.10.FC4 I'm testing our ERP upgrade to IDS 12.1 on our test server and after running the upgrade and checking the differences in the old and new onconf file I got a question or two. The new onconf doesn't have a VPCLASS aio setting (VPCLASS aio,num=24). I assume with AUTO_TUNE 1 I no longer need this? or is that a bad assumption? Also both my TAPEBLK and LTAPEBLK got changed from 64 to 32, not sure it matters other than our tape drive prefers 64 blocks. It can handle 32, just wondering why the change. Finally when I started for the first time I got this warning below. Our is set to TXTIMEOUT 0x12c, from what I can tell be this way since when we were on 7.31 or prior. What is the recommended value now? Or should I just ignore the warning? Warning: Parameter's user-configured value was adjusted. (TXTIMEOUT) John David Adamski, Sr. Network Specialist Graceland University, 1 University Place, Lamoni, IA 50140 adamski@graceland.edu 641.784.5267
VPCLASS aio...
I would continue to set a reasonable initial value. The AUTO* settings can
adjust this on the fly, but it tends to be slow to react, so the initial
setting is important for steady state operations.
Change the tape block sizes back to what ypu need them to be.
No clue about the TXTIMEOUT, but startup adjustments like that are either
because of rounding, setting too high or too low, or as a consequence of
some other setting limiting the adjusted value.
