You are probably referring to the "relay module" that translates between the different methods of database access of versions < 6.0 and >= 6.0. I've never heard of such a thing as a "remote module". The general consensus of both the manuals and this group has been that the relay module gives you a big performance hit and should only be used as a last measure if you absolutely cannot convert your frontend apps to a version concurrent with the backend. So I am very surprised about your statement that performance via the sqlrm is "at least as good". Could you please explain?
