RE: Coexistance of INets 5.01 & 7.12/7.2

We are also having the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. JP -----Original Message----- From: Mark D. Johnson [SMTP:103600.1063@compuserve.com] Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 1997 8:17 PM To: Informix-List Subject: Coexistance of INets 5.01 & 7.12/7.22 We are developing an application that uses ODBC API calls to Informix to support a system that is currently being fielded using a 16-bit app and INet 5.01 on the client machine to access an Informix 7.12 or 7.22 database on NT 3.51 and NT 4.0 servers respectively. Our application is a 32-bit client and is targeted to coexist on the above mentioned client machines. In order for our 32-bit app to access Informix 7.21/7.22 databases, the client machines on which it will reside will have to have a copy of INet 7.21/7.22 installed. My question is: Can INet 5.01 and INet 7.21/7.22 be configured to coexist on a single NT workstation? If so, how? I have been able to configure INets for SE 6.0 and SE 7.2 to coexist in a W95 machine. SE 6.0 automatically installs under C:\\INFORMIX where as SE 7.2 installs under C:\\WIN32APP\\INFORMIX. They are not both active during a single session though, but this is OK. I maintain separate system boot configurations for each, including Path, informixdir, and dbpath environment variables. We will probably try this on a client workstation, but I'm seeking experienced advice before possibly wasting time. TIA Mark D.
