Such false information coming from someone claiming to be an ex-Oracle DBA. If such was the case when you were a DBA, you should be embarrassed to state that you couldn't keep Oracle running for more than an hour. Of course, maybe that's why you switched to a lesser database. "Art S. Nikita, It wasn't me who set up the cron to restart Oracle on the hour. It was the team of consultants Oracle gave us to help us poor deprived Informix folk install, setup, and manage the Oracle engine we were to use for our new project. BTW the project and Oracle are now GONE! Art S.
