IDS 9.40.UC3 and Debian Linux
Posted in 2004
I have tried to install IDS 9.40.UC3 on Debian Linux "Unstable" and have
run into a problem.
It appears from reading c.d.i and this mailing list that the glibc needs
to be upgraded to one
that is compiled for i686 specifically. I not much of a Debian guru
(more of a RH one) and
I downloaded the libc6-i686.deb and installed it. Problem is it
installed the files in /lib/tls/i686/cmov
Problem is the IDS binary oninit uses the libraries in /lib. So how do
I get oninit to use the freshly installed
libc6-i686 libraries located in /lib/tls/i686/cmov?
Or do I install the libc6-i686 libraries in /lib? If so how?
Or is it simply a matter of copying the files in /lib/tls/i686/cmov to /lib?
Thanks
Peter
