hi folks, at the moment i'm trying to get a connection pool up and running using sun's application server (formerly known as "iplanet", now "sun java system application server"). adding a jdbc resource works fine, but testing this connection fails due to an "com.informix.asf.IfxASFException" error... as far as could find any information (there are realy only a few docs available) i have to use com.informix.jdbcx.IfxDataSource as my Data Source Class Name. the properties is used for this resource are listed below: IfxIFXHost serverName databaseName password portNumber user InformixServer IFXHOST IFXHost yes, i know that i've defines InformixServer and InformixHost several times, thats why sun's docs say A and ibm's docs say B :-(( i already tried some mixture of both and used most of the alternatives... but always the same erro occures... my informix server runs on a solaris 8 based machine, that i'm able to connect to via esql/c, dbacces, ilogindemo and all those typical other informix based tools... the app-server is running on linux based server, that has in general also the ability to connect to the informix database (using esql/c programs) are there any experiences in here, that might help me with getting those two systems connected ? btw: informix's server log says nothing about any try of connection :-( thanks in advance !! cheers joerg
