Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

You can find the answer from the Informix site via the following
path:
http://www.informix.com
choose "Product Documentation"
choose "Informix Dynamic Server 7.3"
choose "Guide to SQL: Syntax" (assuming Adobe plug-in)
choose "Identifiers"
Under "Usage" it says:
"An identifier can be up to 18 bytes, inclusive."
Under the coming 9.2 product this limit will be extended
to 132 bytes.
