As Phil suggests Informix 7.30 runs just fine on HP 11.00 unless you have not applied all the recommended patches. For the most current and up-to-date list call informix Tech support and request a comprehesive list. There are a couple of patches that are directly related to I/O performance. These patches are needed whether you are using KAIO or AIO. Also KAIO must be set up properly or you may notice slower I/O than using AIO.
