Foundation 2000 and Solaris 7

Folks, We have just learned from our Customer Support Engineer that Informix has no immediate plans to ship Foundation 2000 for 64-bit Solaris 7. He says it will be available only in 32-bit version. This seems strange to us, since Informix already ships 7.3 for 64-bit Solaris 7. We have asked him to double check his information. Question: What have other Informix customers heard from their Informix reps regarding Foundation 2000 (9.2) on 64-bit Solaris 7. Regards all, David Grove Alaska Dept. of Health & Social Services
David, The reason for this is that currently we don't have a business case for the 64-bit Solaris release. It's not that we don't want to ever release it - it's just that currently we don't have plans for the 64-bit release for UC1. We don't have any customers that are currently using a 64-bit system on the 9 product line, nor do we know of any that are pushing for that release. I guess that Y2K and the fact that Solaris will allow such large shm allocations on current 32-bit platforms. If you were planning on using the 64-bit release, then you should request you sales rep to make a business case for the release.
