IDS 200 under RH Linux hangs in E/SQL applications

Sorry if this is a bit of a newbie question, but I am currently running an E/SQL application with the latest version of RH Linux and IDS 2000, and suddenly my E/SQL application seems to be just hanging at the first embedded SQL statement encountered in the program after I make a successful connect. I'm using IPC/shared memory for a connection which has worked fine before, so I don't think that it's the connection. Does anyone know what kind of problems might be casusing this? I know I've had seg faults in IDS calls because I was accidentally overwriting some of IDS's memory; could this be a related problem? (e.g. IDS problems caused by mistakes I made in the application space?) Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance, Matt Denny
Post onstat -m (at least selected sections from the time of the hang),
onstat -g ses <session_id_of the hung session>, onstat -l, onstat -p,
onstat -u. Alos post specific version/sub-version info.

See if you have the same problem with the demo program that does exactly
what your app is doing. If the demo doesn't work, your app will not work.
$ cd /tmp/foo
$ esqldemo7
$ esql demo1.ec -o demo1
$ demo1
If successful, then you probably have not recompiled all your libraries
when you
upgraded your CSDK. If not successful, try reinstalling the CSDK. Also
compare
the connect statement in demo1.ec to your code.
One more thing. Don't use gcc or ld and list Informix libs to
compile/link. Use esql.
You can also try a network connection versus a shared memory connection.
This
is just a workaround.
