Hey, he's back! Still such an NT fan, Joe? They change so damn quickly, Informix would be assaulted by tree huggers everywhere if they still pushed paper manuals out everywhere. I've gone through about 8 revisions of the CD in the last year, can you imagine if I'd got 8 sets of manuals? I'd have had to read at least one of them. Yeah, and I'm sure they just learned Java and VB by osmosis. I will grant you that you have to highlight "fast links" on the Informix home page to get to manuals, I think it should be a more clear and obvious link, but really, I don't have a great deal of sympathy for people who say they can't find the manuals if that's all they have to do. :-) ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

I just installed a CRM system in Japan on IDS NT 7.30. We're processing every item purchased in an 800-store chain, using a 4-way 550MHZ IBM Netfinity. It takes longer to ftp the data files to the Netfinity than it takes to actually process the data! I'm not claiming that Informix on NT is fastest or most efficient, but in many cases, it is enough to do the job. Coupled with other factors such as on-site-expertise, common training and common platforms, and corporate IS standards, I feel very comfortable recommending NT IDS. Joe
