onmode -Y

Anyone know how to use this? Can't seem to
find an explanation anywhere.
I show that there is a new command in 9.4: onmode -Y with the following
description:
-Y <sid> [0|1] Set or unset dynamic explain
This is all there is in the release notes:
1. Dynamically Monitor Queries
...................................
Ability to monitor queries dynamically using the onmode -Y command.
Hi Bleb,
I do know that Informix has come out with the Set explain on with out
executing the query.
You can see if the query is tune properly before actually running it.
I am not sure if the onmode is the way to go, you can try it.

That's the new feature ...:-) U can now dynamically set the explain on for
sessions ...that way you don't have to really take out the query from the
application or use SQLIDEBUG to get it and test for its query plan ....
Setting it will start generating the explain output for all the queries
coming in after that ....

You can read some more explanations on the Performance Guide, pages 10-12 to 10-20 (Query Plan Report). I haven't used it yet, but I guess it should as what the documentation says. -edmund
