So we cause one or more of his free email accounts to be closed. What does he do next? Open another free email account! Seems to me that there really is no way to get rid of this spam problem because of the current freedom built in to the Internet. So my best option is to use filters or my delete key. Or I could use those same free email accounts to join USENET lists and when the signal-to-noise ratio gets to high, I switch to another free email account and leave the other to be closed in a month. of course, I also wish that spammers could receive a healthy 400KVA jolt as soon as they move the mouse pointer over the Send key of their spamming software... but then God will have to take an active role in Internet System Administration and we'd lose 90% of our online humour and most of the telecom companies who overcharge for services... c'est la vie! What an interesting difference -- there's a lot of support for assertively discouraging spammers both the comp.databases.ms-access and in comp.lang.basic.visual.misc. -- L. M.
