Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

You can remove any logical log that has only the flags 'U-B----'
except those between the log showing a 'C' in the flags and the one
showing an 'L' in the flags (these may be the same log file or a
different one). These logs have current transaction data needed for
recovery so they cannot be dropped. You can mark the uneeded logs
as backed up by running ontape -a.
Also the log number you pass to onparams to drop a log
is its ordinal log number from column 2 of the onstat -l report not the
unique id from column 4.
I use 76 - 100MB log files for our servers but you will need to size
them according to your own needs. My article in the latest Informix
Tech Notes (available online) gives some guidelines.
