Making a system call through a SP on NT from a SCO machine
Posted in 2000
Help needed! The following set-up applies : Informix version: 7.30 UC2 Question 1 On SCO machine (v 5.0.5): On Insert/Update/Delete of data in table "X" a custom written replication queue is built - Files for the different destinations are created. A transaction is started applying the actions specified within the files on the remote machines. If the remote machine is a UNIX machine no problem. However if it is a NT machine I have a rollback. (See NT machine below) NT machine: On insert/update/delete of data in table "X" a trigger fires calling a SP as defined below. This procedure makes a system call to a Delphi executable passing the tablename as a parameter. The error received on the SCO machine is 'Not Owner' but the machines are trusted and this work is done as the "informix" user. CREATE PROCEDURE "informix".sp_table_change( Pi_TableName CHAR(18) -- The name of the table ) SYSTEM "TableCh " || Pi_TableName ; END PROCEDURE ; More Info: If I do not use the trusted login, but supply a username and password when connecting to the NT machine it works. What do I do? Question 2 Is there a way in the system tables to see whether the content of a table has changed ? Thanks Christo Fourie christo.fourie@tollink.co.za
