Yes, you should be able to do this by running an ontape with an appropriate
parameter.
This is Informix's way of ensuring that you get a full backup before
changing log status. I can't quite remember the exact syntax for it but you
should be able to find it in the documentation for ontape.
Note that this is the case for our installation Informix 7.31 UC2 on
Solaris 8. You don't say what version/OS you are on.

Could I change database log status
from none to buffered_log after the database created ?
I exported data from the database and import to a new one (rename it)
However, Informix change the log mode to none (which was buffered_log when
exported)
Any suggestion ?
