Could I change database log status from none to buffered_log after the database created ? I exported data from the database and import to a new one (rename it) However, Informix change the log mode to none (which was buffered_log when exported) Any suggestion ? Scott_wu

For unbuffered loging I regulary use:
ontape -s -L 0 -U your_db_name
Nebojsa

There is also an option -ss on DB-Export that preserves server-specific information (like extent sizes, dbspaces, lock modes, etc). By default, the export is (basically) server neutral and the database logging mode is effectively unlogged. As others said, you can change the logging mode of a database at the end of a level 0 archive. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2003.04 -- http://dbi.perl.org/
