Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Zbigniew Lisiecki, running INFORMIX-SE 7.24 on SuSE Linux, missed ISQL and wanted its forms. Ruediger Papke said ISQL is a separate product and DBACCESS lacks forms, reports and menus. Zbigniew objected that ISQL cost about $627. Jonathan Leffler said ISQL for Linux could be obtained, for a fee, from Intraware. No free alternative was found.

Hi Zbigniew,
ISQL is not a part of the Database Server SE or IDS.
It is an separat product and has to be installed separat.
DBACCESS is a frontend that is a part of any INFORMIX Server
installation.
DBACCES is like isql without FORMs, REPORTs and UserMenus.
You can use it to send sql-Statements to the Server.

Hi Ruediger,
yes, isql is a separate product, but it costs 627$, and i´ve got
the whole engine for free as a SuSE Linux user, so i am still
looking for a cheaper solution. I need Forms.

You can obtain ISQL for Linux from Intraware
(http://www.intraware.com/).
Of course, you are expected to buy it. I don't know the price off-hand.
