RE: Informix SE & Visual Basic, Delphi, or Powerbuilder
Posted in 1999
We use Delphi with good results and it is not difficult to learn It connects via ODBC but to online not SE VisualBasic is also a good choice depending on the previous experience of the developing team, we have many programmers that know VB so for them would be the initial choice rather than learning delphi. Powerbuilder would be today on last place depending on other facts like if we are planning to use it on any other project or if we have already a good experience with it. -----Original Message----- From: Barry Stubbs [mailto:bgs@alpha1.net] Sent: Wednesday, July 28, 1999 12:40 PM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Informix SE & Visual Basic, Delphi, or Powerbuilder Does anyone use Visual Basic, Delphi, or Powerbuilder with Informix-SE. If so, can you please let me know of your success and/or problems with any of these products as a front-end to Informix. I have to evaluate a cheaper application design tool to use with Informix-SE 7.23 than the currently used tool -- Uniface. The design tool must also be easier to learn than Uniface. If there are other alternative design tools that people are using successfully, please let me know. I really appreciate any input on this.
