Peter Zyumbilev wanted Bulgarian locale bg_bg.8859-5 on Linux with Informix 12.10 but got error -23101 (unable to load locale categories). Paul Watson offered the ILS 3.50.MC7 download privately. Peter's install lacked an ISO_8859-1 msg directory. Dennis Melnikov asked whether he used upper case locale names, as Linux is case-sensitive. Unresolved.

Hello,
I am new to informix community. I installed Informix 12.10 and 14.10 on a few machines. Working it out slowly.
I hit a problem on Linux(both Ubuntu 22.04 and RedHat 7.9), Informix 12.10.
I am trying to get support for
bg_bg.8859-5. On Windows 2016 all works like charm and setting these in the client:
set CLIENT_LOCALE=BG_BG.8859-5
set DB_LOCALE=BG_BG.8859-5
set DBDATE=dmy4.mode con codepage select=1251
I copied a few files in informix\\gls\\lc11
However if server is on Linux I get:
-23101 Unable to load locale categories.
Based on my research I found that I need Informix Language Supplement" (ILS) 3.50.MC7

[root@dbrh7 informix]# dbaccess-23101 Unable to load locale categories.

Looks like this pack is not good for my 12.10 fresh install ?

Peter,
Do you use upper case locales in Linux? Looks like the matter is that Linux (as well as UNIX) is case-sensitive, unlike Windows.
